![]() Imagine being the sole exemplar of your species capable of sentience and seeing the rest of it as enslaved/savages/mentally incompetent. However, I'd like to end on something for you to ponder. Could sparing a baby from disease by abortion be good? This problem has been discussed at length. Can you harm something that wouldn't know harm if it were saved from it? E.g. If you accept that sentience is a burden, another problem arises. Take in as much information as you can from him and then make your choice. Consent depends on sentience, and a higher state of awareness than a spinosaurious would have. The problem of pre-sentient consent has been discussed in abortion ethics. I'm so sorry, I just happen to love bioethics, so I'll take a shot at C. Ignoring the functionality perspective (I want this to be a character decision, not a rules decision), morally what do you think is the best choice? And what have you decided in the past with your druids? (Or what did your party members decide?) In and out of character I'm trying to figure out (with C as most important, B as second most):Ī- if she wants to cast awaken on Spinder,ī-if she is obligated, under their friendship, to cast it on him,Ĭ-if giving an animal sentience is something the animal would want. However, now that she's gotten to be a higher level, she can cast awaken pretty much any day she wants. With the party, they've been traveling together for quite some time now, and she likes to consider him as a close friend. As druids tend to do, she picked up an animal companion, a young spinosaurus named Spinder. So in the game where I've been playing the same character the longest, my character is Grace Maslach, human druid.
